SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KingSong has introduced the F16 AVEN, a 16-inch suspension electric unicycle that combines the F Series’ performance platform with design changes aimed at making ownership more convenient, from removing the motor for tire replacement to unlocking the wheel with a nearby smartphone.

The F16 features a 3,500W rated motor with up to 10,000W peak output, a 2,220Wh battery using Samsung 50S cells, and four DNM shock absorbers providing 70mm of frame travel. Alongside those specifications, KingSong’s engineering team focused on a practical question: how much work should routine maintenance require?

Designing around maintenance
Tires wear through regular riding, but replacing one can involve substantial disassembly before a rider or technician can reach the motor assembly. For the F16, KingSong used a quick-release motor structure intended to reduce that work.

According to FW, a member of the F16 engineering team, the decision builds on a modular design approach adopted during F18 development.

“We committed to modular design starting with the F18, drawing on information gathered from several sources,” FW said. “The aim was to make maintenance easier for owners and service teams, while also improving assembly efficiency and product quality.”

On the F16, the tire-change disassembly described by the engineering team involves four screws securing the motor retaining blocks, two screws on the motor-cable connector cover, and three screws securing the motor phase connections. The motor assembly can then be removed for tire replacement.

For riders, the practical distinction is access: this arrangement is intended to avoid the extensive side-cover removal required by some other wheel designs. It does not eliminate the work of changing the tire itself.

The trade offs behind the quick release structure
Making the motor easier to remove also required changes elsewhere in the vehicle.

“To make the motor quick-release structure possible, we removed all electrical connections from the lower release area,” FW explained. “We used independent battery packs and added connectors to support that layout.”

The engineering decisions extended beyond maintenance. At the rear of the F16, the team chose additional RGB lighting in place of a Bluetooth speaker function, prioritizing the wheel’s visual design.

These choices show how the F16’s final layout reflects several competing priorities: component access, electrical packaging and appearance.

A smaller platform with adjustable suspension
The F16 carries forward the four-shock suspension approach used in the F22 and F18. Rebound, compression damping and spring preload are adjustable, allowing riders to set the suspension for their weight, terrain and preferences.

The wheel uses a 16 × 3.0-inch tire. KingSong lists motor torque above 170 N·m, while the battery is arranged in four independent packs.

The AVEN name combines “Adventure” and “Avenue,” reflecting the model’s intended use across paved routes and recreational trails.

Fewer steps before and after a ride
The F16 also introduces smartphone Bluetooth proximity locking and unlocking.

Without proximity access, a rider using app-based locking may need to take out a phone, open the app, connect to the wheel and select the relevant command. KingSong says the F16’s proximity function is designed to remove those repeated steps.

With the feature enabled and configured, the company says the wheel can power on and unlock as the paired phone approaches, then power off and lock when the phone moves away.

For an owner making frequent stops, the intended benefit is straightforward: fewer interactions with the phone at the beginning and end of a ride.

Other connected features include a 16 × 16 dot-matrix display, vehicle settings and battery monitoring through the KingSong App, and over-the-air updates for the mainboard, display and battery management system.

Building on the F Series
The F16 follows the F18’s competition use in the United States and Europe. That racing background provides context for the F Series, while the F16 adds a focus on the maintenance and access tasks owners encounter between rides.
