NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Waldorf Astoria New York is midway through its month-long artist-in-residence program with award-winning multidisciplinary artist Evi Photopoulos, live now through Saturday, November 7. At its center is A Living World, an exhibition of 45 works installed throughout the hotel’s lobby level, from monumental canvases layered in oil, 24K gold, silver, and Swarovski crystals to intricate ink drawings on paper, and 18-foot banners hanging in the lobby. Each afternoon, Photopoulos paints live in the Peacock Alley Corridor, where visitors can watch her work for free, no reservation required.
The residency, the hotel’s first since its reopening last year following a multi-year restoration, continues Waldorf Astoria New York’s nearly century-long role as a gathering place for the city’s cultural life. Over the program’s remaining weeks, the public can continue to engage with the artist through daily live painting, a free performance series on Tuesday afternoons, and a hands-on Saturday masterclass and Japanese-inspired afternoon tea taking place on October 24.
