Programs, rebates and practical tips can help customers manage energy use and costs heading into cooler months
ATLANTA, Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As Georgians prepare their homes for cooler temperatures, Georgia Power is ready to help customers save money and energy, or provide assistance for customers who need it. The company offers a range of assistance programs, payment options and energy-saving resources designed to meet customers where they are and help them better manage their monthly bills.

October is Energy Efficiency Month, an opportunity to highlight the simple steps customers can take to reduce energy use, as well as the programs and resources Georgia Power provides throughout the year to help make homes more comfortable and energy efficient. From income-qualified assistance and free home energy improvements to rebates, personalized recommendations and online energy-management tools, customers have several options for saving energy and money.
Georgia Power understands that energy costs are an important part of every family's budget, and the company works every day to identify savings for customers and keep electricity affordable in Georgia. Earlier this summer, the typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month began seeing approximately $50 in annual savings as a result of lower fuel costs. The company has also committed to stable, predictable rates through at least 2028 following a base rate freeze announced in 2025. Additional savings are expected beginning in 2029, when the typical residential customer is expected to save approximately $15 per month, or about $180 annually, due to the company's strategic approach to managing growth, which is lowering costs for residential and small business customers.
