SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Darwinium today unveils a shift in its ethos, making its Intent IntelligenceTM technology the foundation of its cyberfraud prevention platform as AI agents inevitably take on more of the tasks once handled by customers. The company has launched two new capabilities to put that focus into practice: Journey Transition Probability flags unusual changes in the steps leading to a login, account action or payment, whether a human, bot or AI agent is involved. MCP Protection extends that view to the tools AI agents use to carry out tasks.

In a recent survey, 97% of fraud, risk and security leaders reported an increase in AI-driven attacks, yet only 36% believed they had effective fraud coverage across the full customer journey. That gap becomes harder to manage as agent activity grows. In Darwinium’s network, only about one in four agentic transactions self-declares, and transactions involving agents are rejected nine times as often as other purchases. Businesses need a way to recognize legitimate agent activity without giving risky actions a free pass.

“An authenticated (human) customer can still be coached into sending money to a scammer. An authorized AI agent can start out doing exactly what a customer asked, then take an unexpected turn,” said Michael Rodriguez, Chief Operating Officer at Darwinium. “We’ve spent years building a view of the full customer journey because those changes matter. Making Intent Intelligence technology central to our platform lets businesses assess what’s happening as an interaction unfolds, whether a person or an agent is taking the next step.”

Darwinium’s existing Agent Intent Detection helps businesses identify AI agents, including those that do not announce themselves. Now, the company is building on that foundation by bringing a customer’s web and mobile activity and an agent’s MCP tool calls into one journey. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, connects AI agents to external tools. Darwinium assesses the steps in that journey with the same model and makes risk decisions through the business’s existing content delivery network (CDN), the infrastructure that handles its website traffic.

Two new capabilities make that possible:

“Darwinium vastly improves our visibility into user intent and behavior across surfaces, whether the user is an agent or a human,” said Jon Ferrari, Senior Manager, fraud prevention and application security at Apollo.io. “Web traffic is at an inflection point where user-agent declarations and even statements of intent are becoming moot. We need to track whether behavior matches stated intent over time, including in aggregate, where activity spread across many requests can add up to an outcome that no individual request disclosed.”
