Fair Isaac shareholders who lost money when the stock fell on the FHFA's mortgage credit score announcement may have the right to seek recovery. An investigation into potential securities law violations is now underway.
NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE: FICO) stock opened down more that $172 per share, or over 20%, after the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced changes that could allow a direct competitor to the FICO score into mortgage underwriting. If that decline hit your account, you have rights, and acting promptly can help protect them. FICO shareholders who lost money are encouraged to request a free review of their losses , or to contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. via email at jlevi@levikorsinsky.com or by telephone at (212) 363-7500.

After-market on September 28, 2026, the FHFA said it would simplify mortgage pricing and could open underwriting to a competing credit score. Just a few hours later, Rocket Mortgage announced it would "become the first mortgage lender to use VantageScore 4.0 as its preferred credit scoring model for all eligible loans" following "four months of testing."
FICO's management had previously contended that they "anticipate[d] no loss of volume to Vantage in this fiscal year," and continued to assert through July that a "VantageScore by itself" is insufficient, it "doesn't really get you there," and it is only "additive to the market."
Levi & Korsinsky's investigation is evaluating whether FICO shareholders have grounds to recover these losses under the federal securities laws. You do not need to still own your shares to have your losses evaluated. There is no cost to come forward, and no minimum loss is required.
