GAINESVILLE, Va., Sept. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), the trusted global leader in computing benchmarks, today announced the SPECviewperf 15.0.1 Linux Edition benchmark, bringing SPEC’s professional graphics benchmark to supported x86_64 and aarch64 Linux workstations. This benchmark enables workstation manufacturers, GPU and driver developers, system integrators, enterprise IT and procurement teams, performance engineers, and other users to measure, compare, qualify, and optimize the graphics performance of their Linux workstations.
The workloads included in the new benchmark represent graphics content and behavior of professional applications, allowing users to conduct standardized performance testing without installing or licensing the represented applications. The benchmark includes support for eight OpenGL workloads and various current Linux distributions. These include x86_64 systems running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Rocky Linux 10, and Fedora 43, as well as aarch64 systems running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Users can assess GPUs, drivers, and system configurations using workloads representing CAD, content creation, engineering, energy, and medical visualization. The resulting data supports improved Linux workstation selection, qualification, deployment, and performance optimization.

- Significant Usability Improvements: Includes an all-new graphical user interface (GUI) and updated installation and configuration processes. GUI supports selecting, installing, uninstalling, and updating workloads; choosing Full HD or 4K resolution; reviewing detected system configuration; running the benchmark; and managing completed results.
- Results Manager: Allows users to open HTML reports, annotate and organize runs, identify submission-candidate results, and package selected results. The specviewperf15-cli interface supports automation and scripted execution, including listing workloads; running official, installed, or selected workloads; choosing the resolution; enabling debug output; and cancelling workloads during execution.

Existing license holders of either the SPECviewperf 15.0.1 benchmark or the SPECviewperf 15.0.1 Linux Edition benchmark may purchase the corresponding benchmark for $1,000. SPEC/GWPG members receive benchmark licenses as a membership benefit.
