Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Silicon Ranch, owner and operator of one of the nation’s largest fleets of solar facilities and a community-focused energy infrastructure company, announced today that it is developing two new solar projects—Wrens (Jefferson County) and Norwood III (Warren County)—to support the growing demand for energy in Georgia. The company will develop, build, own, and operate the Wrens and Norwood III facilities and sell the energy and renewable attributes from each to Georgia Power through the Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription program (CARES).
In addition to supporting local grid reliability and the growing demand for energy in Georgia, the Wrens and Norwood III projects represent a significant capital investment and new source of tax revenue to support locally identified priorities in Jefferson and Warren Counties. The projects also further support Silicon Ranch’s long-standing commitment to American manufacturing, as the company is an industry leader for its work to cultivate a domestic supply chain for its energy projects. Wrens and Norwood III will generate energy with materials purchased from U.S.-based companies including First Solar, which manufactures solar modules in Alabama, Ohio, and Louisiana; and Nextpower, which manufactures steel trackers and other components at multiple locations across the U.S., including Memphis, Tennessee.
As the long-term owner of every project in its portfolio, Silicon Ranch has long employed a responsible approach to stewardship of the land it owns through its Regenerative Energy® agribusiness. The land at Wrens and Norwood III will be managed with regenerative agriculture practices, which improve soil health and the quality of land by promoting deep-rooted, multi-species grasses and pollinator habitats under and around solar arrays. Silicon Ranch is also reviewing opportunities to deploy managed livestock grazing on the sites. The company owns the largest flock of sheep in Georgia and owns a herd of cattle that grazes on a site using the first-ever commercial deployment of its patented cattle-compatible system called CattleTrackerTM, which pairs American energy generation with American beef production.
