New members including SoftBank Corp. and Crusoe join the cloud native community to help build cost-efficient, sovereign infrastructure

SHANGHAI, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cloud Native Computing Foundation® (CNCF®), which builds sustainable ecosystems for cloud native software, today announced the addition of nine new Silver members, including telecommunications leader SoftBank Corp. and AI infrastructure provider Crusoe, reinforcing the continued momentum of cloud native adoption across industries and further strengthening the foundation's global community. This cohort, spanning telecommunications, AI infrastructure, cloud hosting, infrastructure efficiency, autonomous code optimization, sovereign infrastructure, and open source data retrieval, joins the nearly 800 members and over 300,000 contributors across more than 250 projects and 190 countries in the cloud native ecosystem.

CNCF is the open source, vendor-neutral hub of cloud native computing, hosting projects like Kubernetes and Prometheus to make cloud native universal and sustainable.

"With the shift from AI experimentation to 24/7 production inference at scale, the challenge is about getting more from the infrastructure organizations already have rather than adding more compute," said Jonathan Bryce, executive director of CNCF. "Open source communities are building the orchestration, observability and infrastructure layers needed to use those resources more efficiently. These new members bring expertise across the stack and strengthen the community working to make production AI infrastructure more efficient and accessible."

As organizations transition AI workloads from training to inference, platform teams face rising demands for operational efficiency, data sovereignty, and resource optimization. CNCF's newest members reflect that shift, bringing domain expertise and technology built for production-scale AI.
